At The Cider Barn, we try to reflect the simplicity and beauty of the Herefordshire countryside in all that we do.
We aim to celebrate the county’s produce and changing seasons which means that we can take advantage of all that is good about living in Herefordshire.

I am Sophie Bowen, chef-patron of the Cider Barn.
Following my medical degree, I trained to be a chef and settled at The Cider Barn. Having grown up in Herefordshire I love everything the county offers – beautiful countryside, wonderful produce and an unsurpassed quality of life. I strongly believe that should be celebrated. So my vision for The Cider Barn has been shaped by Herefordshire, its seasons, communities and colours. Above all, I want it to reflect Herefordshire living and support our local businesses.
The food & drink
Everything we have to offer is sourced locally – much time has been spent sourcing growers and suppliers from our county with exciting things to offer. We use this produce as the inspiration for our menus, creating imaginative and exciting dishes.
The menu changes frequently to feature whatever is in season, using local suppliers together with friends and family who supply us with everything from quail eggs to apples.
We run a full à la carte menu and a Café menu available during lunchtime. Nibbles are also available to have with drinks. Our wines are specially selected by our wine merchant, John Villar and we stock craft ciders, beers, spirits and soft drinks. Again, we have spent time sourcing great products from our local suppliers.
Our teas and coffees have also been chosen with same care and concern for quality and have been ethically sourced and produced.

The restaurant
The Cider Barn offers a relaxed, simple and welcoming environment where people can enjoy something a little special. We welcome our guests not just for a meal, but invite them to spend a whole evening with us.
We experience the seasons very differently in The Cider Barn. In the Summer, you can enjoy the cool, lofty space and terrace overlooking glorious countryside or, in the winter months, the cosy open fire and warm oak beams.
